In order to get the chance to audition to become a BeignYAY, you must volunteer with the BeignYAYS. The number of volunteer requirements changes every year but for the 2023-2024 season that number is FIVE parades.
The easiest way to learn about calls for volunteers is by joining the BeignYAYS Sugar YAYDIES facebook group and turning your notifications ON. The volunteer coordinatior, Randa will post about all volunteer opportunities. You can also check out the Volunteer Website.

The number of people we take is dependent upon the number of active members. The BeignYAYs have no more than 50 active members each season. We never know how many open spots we have and once someone retires, we will pull from the waitlist immediately.
You do not have to have any dance experience to be a BeignYAY. We look for enthusiasm, willingness to put in the work, and a "YAY" attitude. You must be at least 21 to participate. However, the BeignYAYs are open to anyone regardless of age, gender, body size, etc. We do ask that you ask that you know your body's limit and can comfortably dance three miles.
We love all of our sibling dance krewes and believe the more the merrier. If you are interested in starting your own dance krewe, reach out to us and we will get you the information on what it takes! If you join another dance group, that's okay too. We just want everyone dancing!
